Founded as a nonprofit educational organization nearly five decades ago, The Conclave will hold a 45th and final conference in the new year. The forum for broadcasters and students has been on an indefinite hiatus since the pandemic, after a 2023 event was cancelled.
The Final Conclave will take place September 15–17 in Minneapolis.
Conclave Executive Director Emeritus Tom Kay said, “The Conclave has always been a bright beacon nurturing the unique community of professional and student radio communicators while helping them navigate these past 50 challenging but rewarding years. But times have changed. Our industries educational platforms have changed. And the curtain must now come down on this noble learning institution.”
Conclave Chair and Heart of Wisconsin Media GM Bob Goff added, “The Last Conclave’s agenda is still being finalized, but expect to experience the same check-your-ego-at-the-door atmosphere surrounding the usual cutting-edge/ask me anything topics and expert faculty for which it has been known. And expect all the networking opportunities, and entertainment you’ve come to expect from a Conclave.”
