Mid-West Family Broadcasting has kicked off 102.1 The Won (KOSP), a new full-power sports radio station in Springfield, MO. The Won takes over the FM frequency previously occupied by Q102, which has now moved to Q92.9 (KQRA), with an appropriate rebrand.
Dustin Males will serve as Brand Manager for The Won.
Along with NFL primetime offerings, The Jim Rome Show, and programming from the ViSN Sports Radio Network, St. Louis Blues hockey and St. Louis Cardinals baseball play-by-play will be moving from sister station 105.1 The Bull (KOMG). The Kansas City Chiefs will continue to air on Mid-West Family’s 104.7 The Cave.
With the move of Q102, 92.9 The Beat is no more.
Mid-West Family Broadcasting General Manager Brian Tyndall said, “With the success we’ve had as the radio home of the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, we know there’s a huge market for sports on the radio here in the Ozarks. With the legalization of sports gambling taking effect soon, we expect even more listeners to tune in for live updates and expert analysis.”
“We will definitely have a heavy focus on local sports, including high school and college teams. There’s so much local talent and passion in our region and it deserves to be spotlighted,” Tyndall added.
