The College Radio Foundation has announced the winners of the 2024 Spirit of College Radio Awards, recognizing exceptional participation and programming during this year’s World College Radio Day, held on October 4.

The awards honor college radio stations that embody the passion and mission of college radio. This year’s theme, The Soundtrack of Democracy, inspired 24-hour programming efforts from stations worldwide. Among hundreds of participants, ten stations stood out for their creativity and dedication.

In the United States, Utah State University’s Aggie Radio 92.3 KBLU-LP, Wayne State College’s 91.9 The Cat (KWSC), Mitchell College’s Radio Mitchell, Gannon University’s 90.5 WERG, East Stroudsburg University’s WESS 90.3, University of West Georgia’s WOLF Radio and WOLF Sports Network, and Bard College’s WXBC received recognition for their extraordinary efforts.

Internationally, Argentina’s Conectión Abierta from Universidad Abierta Interamericana, Ireland’s Juice FM in Cork, and Italy’s Unica Radio from Università degli Studi di Cagliari were recognized for their contributions. These stations highlighted the global importance of college radio as a platform for connection and expression.

College Radio Day Founder Dr. Rob Quicke commented, “We congratulate all these stations for their brilliant efforts. Well done to all the stations who have won this award!”
