Eric Zane, best known for his ongoing podcast and 16-year tenure with the syndicated Free Beer & Hot Wings show, is returning to radio for the first time since 2019. Zane will take mornings on Blarney Stone Broadcasting Q100 (WQON) in Grayling, MI, starting March 18.

He steps into the role previously held by Chad Patterson, who left WQON earlier this month to pursue a career in education.

Zane’s career has taken him from Michigan to Tennessee, where he was a founding member of Free Beer & Hot Wings at 104.5 The Bone (WBON), then New Jersey, and then back to Michigan at 97.9 WGRD in Grand Rapids. After being let go from the show in February 2016, he went across the street to Cumulus’ 107.3 WBBL in April of that year.

He has become a successful podcaster with The Eric Zane Show Podcast, which he plans to continue throughout his on-air comeback. He will also continue as the public address announcer for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
