Shelley Wade Stays On NYC’s Block With New Contract

New York City radio personality Shelley Wade has renewed her contract to continue hosting afternoons with Audacy’s 94.7 The Block (WXBK). The contract also includes Wade’s upcoming Audacy podcast, The Goodness Factor, marking a digital expansion.

A Houston native, Wade made history as the first African American to host a full-time show on Z100 New York. Her time on air has also included shifts at 97.9 The Box Houston and 104.3 MYfm Los Angeles. Among her accolades are the A.I.R. Award for Best Midday Show in New York City, the Gracie Award for Best Music Interview, and the New York State Broadcasters Excellence in Broadcasting Award for Best Interview.

Wade has hosted significant events in NYC like the Revlon Run/Walk for Women. She is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and has served as the president of the San Diego Association of Black Journalists.
