NPR is introducing Trump’s Trials, a new podcast focused on the criminal investigations faced by former President Donald Trump. Hosted by Scott Detrow, the weekend host of All Things Considered and former NPR Politics Podcast host, the series aims to provide clear and comprehensive coverage of Trump’s legal issues.

The weekly episodes will feature insights from NPR’s political editor Domenico Montanaro and legal experts, breaking down complex legal matters into understandable terms.

Produced by the All Things Considered team, Trump’s Trials will also feature segments on the Saturday evening newsmagazine. The first episode is currently available on all podcasting platforms. NPR Plus subscribers will have the added benefit of accessing Trump’s Trials without sponsor interruptions.

Executive Producer Beth Donovan commented, “Whether you seek a quick catch up or a deep dive with sharp takes on what’s at stake for American democracy, our team is working hard to sort through all the details so we can tell you what matters and leave out what doesn’t.”

Detrow expressed, “I’m looking forward to helping listeners make sense of each week’s developments, and helping them understand what matters, and what doesn’t, in the long run.”

All Things Considered Executive Producer Sami Yenigun added, “Trump’s Trials will give listeners an essential look at how government, politicians, and the legal system interface with each other, in a clear and engaging way. It’s central to our mission of keeping the public informed, so they can make good decisions about civic life, and hold our leaders accountable.”
