Audacy has announced Bonnie-Jill Laflin as the new afternoon drive host for 98.7 The Spot (KSPF) in Dallas starting on October 9.

Laflin brings a diverse background to her new role. Not only is she a veteran sports broadcaster and TV personality, but she also has the unique distinction of being the first and only female NBA scout to hold a front-office executive position with the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the radio sphere, Laflin co-hosted a fantasy basketball sports radio program on SiriusXM called The Rush Hour with Kareem Rush. The show was launched in 2012 and renewed for the following year. She has also hosted other radio shows, such as Playboy Fantasy Football on Sirius/XM and the University of Texas pre- and post-football game shows for ESPN Austin.

She has achieved several “firsts” in her career, including being the first woman to dance professionally for three teams in two sports and the first female to be awarded six championship rings in two professional sports. She recently co-hosted the show Women’s Western Sports Roundup on the Cowgirl Channel. Beyond sports, Laflin is also the founder of Hounds and Heroes and Horses, a non-profit that focuses on animal-assisted therapy for wounded veterans.

Brian Purdy, Regional President and Market Manager of Audacy Dallas, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Bonnie-Jill to The Spot to take over afternoons. Her energy, charisma, and passion for our industry will undoubtedly resonate with our listeners, and we can’t wait to see her shine in her new role.”

“I’m excited and honored to be on the airwaves with 98.7 The Spot,” said Laflin. “Even more, to be home in the great state of Texas where you can feel the music in the air and excitement of Dallas Cowboys football and Texas Rangers playoff baseball!”
