In a move to expand its coverage of women’s basketball, The Athletic is set to launch a new podcast called The Athletic Women’s Basketball Show. The weekly podcast aims to provide insider insights into both WNBA and women’s college basketball.
The Athletic’s Zena Keita will host the podcast, featuring expert analysis from Sabreena Merchant, Ben Pickman, and Chantel Jennings. The show is set to discuss everything from WNBA trades to the playoffs and the draft, as well as key moments in the women’s college basketball season.
Keita said, “This project aims to continue The Athletic’s efforts around women’s sports to close that gap on coverage areas of major calendar events…Throughout the project, we’ll examine and amplify the biggest storylines across the pro and college games, and we can’t wait for you to listen.”
