Crawford Broadcasting Switching Birmingham AM To All-Digital

1

Crawford Broadcasting is set to experiment with all-digital AM Radio on WYDE in Birmingham, AL. Starting September 1, WYDE will switch to the MA3 mode, limiting AM band reception to only listeners with HD Radio receivers. WYDE content will also be available on two local FM stations.

The transition to all-digital on the Southern Gospel/Christian Talk station will involve minimal changes or modifications, and WYDE has already conducted brief overnight testing. The company will be monitoring how the digital coverage compares to analog, and its robustness in the face of weather challenges like thunderstorms.

This marks Crawford’s first venture into all-digital AM, joining only two other stations in the U.S. that currently use all-digital AM HD Radio.

  1. Thank God you all got rid of the awful show during the week at 4pm slot, it was against your values and I never understood what amount of money does this person pay you to be on the air to leave your morals and Christian values.

Bless you all for going back to a better format for God’s People, especially in these times. We need God’s word now than every before.
