Pittsburgh NPR Picks Up Vox’s ‘Today, Explained’

Pittsburgh NPR affiliate 90.5 WESA has expanded its evening lineup with the addition of Vox’s daily news explainer show and podcast, Today, Explained. Noel King, who serves as the editorial director and host of Today, Explained, previously co-hosted NPR’s Morning Edition and Up First. She was part of an NPR team that won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2020.

Sean Rameswaram, the creative director of Vox Audio and host of Today, Explained, launched the show in 2018. Known for his innovative approach to daily news reporting, Rameswaram brings a combination of explanation, clarity, personality, and humor to the show. Before his time at Vox, he worked as a correspondent for WNYC’s Radiolab series More Perfect, producing in-depth features on various urgent constitutional topics.
