Nashville sports anchor Joe Dubin is set to become the new color commentator for the Blue Raider Radio Network’s MTSU Football broadcasts this fall. He will join Chip Walters, the Voice of the Blue Raiders, in the booth for the upcoming season. Dubin replaces Jeff Murphy, who, after a successful 2022 season with Walters, stepped away to focus more on family.

The MTSU alum has carved out a sizeable career in Nashville since his graduation in 1997. Dubin started at WKRN-TV, moved to WSMV-TV, and has hosted a drive-time sports talk radio show for Cromwell Media’s 102.5 The Game (WPRT) and Southern Wabash Communications of Middle Tennessee’s Nashville SportsRadio 560 AM (WNSR).

Dubin and Walters will kick off their partnership with the Blue Raiders’ game against the Alabama Crimson Tide on September 2. The upcoming 2023 football season marks the 17th year of the Blue Raider Network under Middle Tennessee Athletics and Learfield.

Joe Dubin said of the job, “I’m beyond honored and still think it’s a dream.” He also added, “Working with Chip, knowing the program, knowing the players, knowing the history, kind of getting back in the game again and being part of a broadcast and following the team, I’m over the moon excited. Being a part of that experience, the travel and game day, the research, the production meetings, getting to know the players and coaches behind the scenes, I think it’s all simply fantastic.”
