iHeartMedia Washington DC has announced the launch of Freedom 104.7 (WMZQ-HD2), branded as “DC’s Real News. Real Talk.” The station will simulcast on 104.7 FM and 98.7 HD2. This is an extension of iHeart’s Freedom brand, which also has a station in the Denver metro.
Freedom 104.7 will host Premiere Networks news/talk personalities and programs, such as Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Clay Travis, Buck Sexton, and Jesse Kelly. Alongside these programs, the station will offer regular local traffic and weather updates.
iHeart DC Senior Vice President of Programming Jeff Kapugi expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “We are confident that Freedom 104.7 will quickly become a favorite destination for DMV talk radio listeners.”
Premiere Networks EVP of Affiliate Sales Peter Tripi echoed this sentiment, saying, “These stellar talents will provide entertaining, unique, and insightful views on the latest news, politics, and events that Washington DC listeners are looking for.”
