New data released by Edison Research shows SiriusXM, Spotify and iHeartRadio were the top podcast networks by audience in the United States for the third quarter of 2022.
The data showed SiriusXM — which produces its own podcasts under the SXM Media brand, as well as its acquired Earwolf and Team Coco divisions — reclaimed the top position from Spotify, which held the king position in the second quarter of the year.
The biggest change in rank went to Amazon’s Wondery, Audible and Amazon Music podcast network, which jumped two spots to sixth. Edison said the change in position was fueled by the acquisition of major shows, including Morbid and My Favorite Murder.
The top 10 podcast networks ranked by Edison for the third quarter of 2022 were:

- Amazon (Wondery / Audible / Amazon Music)
- The New York Times
- Audacy
- Cumulus Podcast Network
- Kast Media
The data is pulled from surveys sent to more than 11,600 listeners in the United States between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the third quarter of 2022.
