Dan Tooker, a former on-air radio personality who transitioned into sales and marketing more than a decade ago, has joined Midwest Communications as the company’s local direct sales manager in Nashville.

Tooker joins the company from OnMedia, where he worked in a similar capacity. Over the years, he also worked with Audacy (then Entercom), ZipLocal and DirecTech in similar sales and marketing positions.

“After talking with Mary Kay Wright and Michael Wright and discussing their vision along with my career goals, I knew this was the place for me,” Tooker said in a statement on Monday.

Tooker started his radio career as a morning show host for several stations, including KJYO (102.7 FM) in Oklahoma City, KMLE (107.9 FM) in Phoenix and KZMG (102.7 FM) in Boise, among others. He was nominated for the Radio Music Award in the morning show category from 2003 to 2007, and won the CMA Broadcast Personality of the Year Award in the medium market category in 2007.

Tooker transitioned from on-air broadcasting to sales and marketing in 2009, according to his LinkedIn profile.
