Enabling Automotive Dealers Is “Automatic” For SiriusXM

SiriusXM is doubling down on the connected car thanks to developments by Automatic Labs, a SiriusXM company, delivering a combination of connected vehicle services for a net cost as low as $40/vehicle (including device and introductory 6-month subscription). Through the Connected Maintenance feature, dealers will be able to send service reminders and maintenance info, vehicle-specific recall notifications, and more, directly to a customer’s smartphone. Using the Automatic mobile app, customers will be able to book service appointments and receive estimates from the dealership where their car was purchased. Automatic will also be launching a new hardware device available for distribution this summer. Boasting a sleek, low-profile design, the new 4G device will have best-in-class functionality, enabling a host of new features only available through Automatic.

“We are excited to be entering into this new phase of development for Automatic. Our new series of products offer cutting-edge safety and convenience services that consumers are asking for, and drives key first and future service traffic right back to a dealer’s store,” said Stewart Lyons, SVP Emerging Business, SiriusXM. “SiriusXM has a long and successful record of working with automotive dealers. As we continue to enhance our connected vehicle services and products, we’ll deliver even more value to them and their customers.”

  1. the high frequencies often sound distorted and there is very little stereo separation. I keep up hope there will be a breakthrough in audio quality. thanks

  2. I think they start and end in digital till your receiver decides a it to analog. Sirius starts in analog, converts to digital before being sent to space and back then converted back at your receiver. This adds significant room for degradation of the sound.

  3. Thanks. I wish they would work on making the audio quality better. Sometimes it’s so bad I wonder why I have it. The high frequencies often sound distorted and there is very little stereo separation.

  5. Weird….the radio stations in my hometown and other towns to which I travel never seem to have this issue. And other than a listening to few commercials I don’t pay anything for local information and live personalities.
