Radio Still Getting Peanuts As General Set To Begin

3

Media Monitors reports Hillary Clinton’s campaign ran a paltry 445 spots as her campaign to win the primary crossed the finish line. Even more alarming for radio was that Bernie Sanders For President aired only 170 spots, while Donald Trump’s campaign bought a measly two radio ads. No Super PAC or campaign ran negative or “against” ads on radio in the last 10 days. The Media Monitors data is from 82 major markets from May 27 to June 5, 2016.

  1. Sorry, “anonymous”.
I admit to getting a little excited, momentarily – what with the evidence an’ everything.
The possibilities of that leading to some active and productive consideration were just so appealing.
    I’ll get over it – again. 🙂

  2. Stand by for the replies about how these campaign managers “don’t understand the value of radio.” There will be no soul searching – denial is too deep for anything like that to happen.

  3. When radio is not even considered as a (hated internally) “support” medium by the pols and their movers, some serious soul-searching – by radio people about the potentials of radio – are required. Like, Stat!
