Starting in 1985, Radio Martí broadcast Spanish-language news into communist Cuba. According to The Miami Herald 26-year-old Oscar Barcelo started with the station that year and stayed for 13, including eight as PD. Global Lead for Business Development and Partner Management at Ford Motor Company Scott Burnell will speak at the NAB Show Radio Luncheon, Tuesday, April 25, in Las Vegas. Burnell will discuss Ford's impact on the future of autonomous vehicles as well as radio's future in the car.

CBS Radio's KXQQ-FM in Las Vegas has hired Natalia Hernandez as its new midday host. Hernandez said, "14 years ago I got my first gig at CBS Radio in West Palm and I'm so happy to be back with the company it all started with. My career has come full circle and I have to thank our PD JB King for believing in me for the midday opportunity at Q100.5."

Chip Arledge is now the Operations Manager for Cumulus' five-station cluster in Shreveport-Bossier City, LA. Arledge will also serve as Program Director for KRMD-FM and KRMD-AM. He joins Cumulus from Eagle Radio Group/Results Radio Network in Marquette, MI, where he was Director of Commotion & Product Development.

Mimi Wheeler is the new Promotions Director and Music Director for Curtis Media's WQDR in Raleigh. VP of Programming Lisa McKay said, “Mimi has a fire in her belly to be a part of a winning team. She has a love for doing great radio and understands how to treat our listeners like family. Mimi grew up here and knows the local landscape of people and places extremely well."

If Mark Teixeira’s career on the diamond is anything to go by, his contributions to The Michael Kay Show on 98.7 ESPN will be priceless. The former first baseman will be at the mic every Thursday at 5 p.m., offering his opinions and analysis, beginning March 30.

iHeart's Rip City Radio 620 in Portland, OR is debuting the new Rip City Drive with Chad and Travis weekdays from 3 – 6 p.m. The afternoon sports talk show will focus on the Portland sports market with a specific focus on Portland Trail Blazer basketball.

ESPN Radio New York 98.7FM PD Justin Craig has been named Senior Director, Programming and Operations for the national ESPN Radio network. Craig will be responsible for all aspects of ESPN Radio programming and production, including oversight of Mike & Mike, The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Russillo & Kanell, and nighttime and weekend programming.

And as a result, some shuffling on the network with Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney moving from weekday mornings (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) to afternoon drive (3:00–6:00 p.m.) and Damon Amendolara moving from evenings (6:00–10:00 p.m.) to mornings (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.). Doug Gottlieb, who was hosting afternoon drive, will air his final show Friday, April 14. A new evening show and host will be named soon.
