CBS Adds Legal Contributor to Sports Platforms
Legal Correspondent Amy Dash will begin contributing to CBS Sports Radio and WFAN in New York as a legal analyst. Dash will offer her legal opinion and analysis on news stories at the intersection of sports and the law.
Rinker to Run Pensacola For Cumulus
Cumulus has hired Jackie Rinker as Market Manager for its five stations in Pensacola. Rinker was previously Market President for iHeartMedia in Panama City and Tallahassee and prior to that was D.O.S. and National Sales Manager for iHeartMedia in in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. She's also been Station Manager and D.O.S. for Treasure & Space Coast Radio and GSM for stations in New Haven and Orlando.
WUSF’s Carol Gentry Retiring
Culminating a multi-decade career covering the complex topic of health care, Carol Gentry is retiring from WUSF Public Media’s Health News Florida. Gentry single-handedly created Health News Florida in 2006 as an independent non-profit health journalism publication, and in 2012, Gentry joined the WUSF Tampa family when she brought Health News Florida into the fold of WUSF Public Media.
Pandora Gets a New CEO
Pandora has hired Roger Lynch as its new CEO replacing former CEO and founder Tim Westergren who resigned at the end of June. Lynch was the founding CEO of Sling TV. Naveen Chopra, who has served as Pandora’s interim CEO since June 2017, will continue in his role as CFO.
Westwood Syndicating Sabo
He calls himself Walter Sterling on the air at WPHT in Philadelphia where he hosts a 10pm to 1am Sunday night talk show. Westwood One is taking Walter Sabo and his program into national syndication. Sabo's show is a mix of lifestyle, entertainment, and social conversation, according to the network.
Christopher Borelli Moves to Radio One, Reach
Radio One and Reach Media add Christopher Borelli to its national sales team as the Manager of New Business Development. Borelli joins Radio One and Reach from Emmis where he was a GSM. Prior to Emmis ,Borelli was the Automotive Manager and Total Traffic and Weather Manager for iHeartMedia in New York.
Dominique to DC
Radio One in Washington DC has hired Dominique Da Diva to host middays on WKYS-FM. Da Diva began her radio career in her hometown of Richmond, as an intern with WBTJ-106.5 The BEAT. In 2016, Da Diva moved to Los Angeles to host Diva Unfiltered on Dash Radio and explore the digital tech world with the launch of her very own App, Da Daily Dirt.
Alpha Elevates Ice
For the past three years Ice has been hosting middays and serving as Music Director for Alpha's Live 95.5 in Portland. Alphas has promoted Amanda "Ice" Habrowski to APD while she keeps her other duties. Alpha VP of Programming, Phil Becker said, "Over the last three years, ICE has been a vital part of our success and I'm thrilled to be able to offer her this opportunity."
ASCAP Gets a New CTO
ASCAP has named former New York Times digital executive Tristan Boutros as Chief Technology Officer. Prior to the Times, Tristan spent three years as Senior VP, Technology and Business Process at Warner Music Group. He has also held senior technology roles at BlackBerry and IAC.
WBZ Boston’s Neil Chayet Dies
Chayet was on the air for over 42 years. He hosted "Looking at The Law" on WBZ Newsradio before retiring in June to deal with small cell cancer. He lost that battle this past Friday, according to his family. Chayet was 78 years old.
