Tim Maranville has been named President/GM for KGGN-FM, owned by Cornerstone Church, serving the San Jacinto Valley north of San Diego. Maranville will leave his position as Curtis Media’s Director of Programming/WBBB-FM, Raleigh, by mid-September.

Radio veteran Pamela B. McKay is the new VP/GM for the cluster. McKay has over 20 years of sales leadership and station management experience. She will oversee MAJIC 102.1 FM, The Box 97.9 FM, Radio NOW 92.1 FM, and Praise. McKay is a former president at iHeartMedia in Austin, TX.

Entercom New Orleans launched The Newell Normand Show on WWL FM/AM Monday afternoon. The 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. show is hosted by the former Jefferson Parish sheriff Newell Normand.

Glenn Haege, host of The Handyman Show with Glenn Haege on Detroit radio for 34 years, passed away Monday after a short battle with cancer at the age of 70. Haege started his career on WXYT-AM 1270 in 1983 and for the past 11 years was heard weekends on NewsTalk 760 WJR-AM. His show was nationally syndicated in 135 radio markets.

New York creative agency Oink Ink has added two members to its radio creative shop. Danielle Malizia has been hired as Producer and Business Development Manager from Citco Fund Services. Tori Adams has joined Oink as Assistant Producer. Her responsibilities include casting coordination, project scheduling/completion, talent coordinator, and spot trafficking.

Detroit’s WJR is reporting via their website that one of their great talents has passed away. “America’s Master Handyman” Glenn Haege died Tuesday morning surrounded by his family following a short bout with cancer. He was 70.

Chicago radio icon John Records Landecker, who has lived in northwest Indiana for the past 15 years, was honored with the Sagamore of the Wabash award, September 8, ahead of his induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame, according to heraldargus.com.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Eric Ferguson, of the former WTMX morning show The Eric and Kathy Show, says that he's "never been more rejuvenated than I feel right now." Kathy left the show months ago, presumably to negotiate a new contract, but Hubbard fired her last week. Here's more of what Ferguson said...

Steve “Omelette” Normandin and Rick Coates have joined Classic Rock The BEAR 98.1 & 97.7 FM in Traverse City, MI, as the station’s morning show. Omelette & Coates will air Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 10 a.m. The pair made their debut Saturday, September 9 at 9 a.m.

Madden will be heard on San Francisco's All News KCBS 106.9FM & 740AM Mondays and Fridays live at 9:15 a.m. PT. His first day back on air was Friday, September 8. Each report features Madden’s signature style football analysis and candid sports commentary.
