ASCAP Gets a New CTO
ASCAP has named former New York Times digital executive Tristan Boutros as Chief Technology Officer. Prior to the Times, Tristan spent three years as Senior VP, Technology and Business Process at Warner Music Group. He has also held senior technology roles at BlackBerry and IAC.
WBZ Boston’s Neil Chayet Dies
Chayet was on the air for over 42 years. He hosted "Looking at The Law" on WBZ Newsradio before retiring in June to deal with small cell cancer. He lost that battle this past Friday, according to his family. Chayet was 78 years old.
Nancy Dymond Appointed To Dual Role For Cumulus-Flint
Dymond will be Vice President/Market Manager for the company’s five-station cluster in Flint, Michigan. Dymond has over 30 years’ as a Market Manager/General Manager in markets including Flint, Lansing, and Saginaw, MI; Erie, PA; and Toledo, OH.
Scott Gaines Kicks On To Atlanta
Gaines will be Afternoon Host and Assistant Program Director for Country radio station Kicks 101.5/WKHX in A-Town. Gaines moves from Cumulus Media-Memphis, where he was Afternoon Host for Country station Kix 106/WGKX. Gaines will debut on Kicks 101.5 on September 5. His show will air weekdays from 3-7 p.m.
The Goose Is Loose In Denver
Country 98.5 KYGO/Denver has added Aaron “Goose” Seller to its morning lineup joining Tracy Dixon and Guy David from 5-9 a.m. Goose joins KYGO from KKPK 92.9 Peak FM in Colorado Springs, where he has handled wake-up duties the past 10 years, also spending time in mornings with KKMG 98.9.
Toshamakia Lighting Up Middays At KS 1075
The Denver station has landed the vivacious jock to liven up the middle stretch of the city's workday. She will also be keeping her #1 afternoon show in Greensboro at 102 Jamz. Toshamakia started in radio in Connecticut then Philadelphia, later working at SirusXM, then on to NC's 102 Jamz. She’ll be on KS 1075 weekdays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
WGFX/Nashville Names Its Football Starters
Sports/Talk radio station WGFX/104.5 The Zone has had a good look at its roster and decided on its team to cover the new pigskin season, as of Monday, August 14. In the first of three moves, Blaine Bishop, former NFL Tennessee Titans safety and longtime host on 104.5 The Zone, joins the Wake Up Zone morning crew.
CBS Brings On Amy Bolton
Amy Bolton has been hired by CBS News Radio to manage affiliate sales. The company says following the recent agreement between CBS News Radio and Skyview Networks, CBS News Radio has hired the 30-year network executive to spearhead CBS News Radio’s drive to enlist the hundreds of current CBS News Radio affiliates for its new in-house affiliation network.
Santolucito Moving Up At WKLB-FM
Dawn Santolucito has been promoted to Music and Marketing Director at Country 102.5 in Boston. In her new role, Santolucito will continue her oversight of the marketing/promotions department, but will now also help lead the charge on the music side for Country 102.5.
Hubbard Joins ABC Radio
Stephen Hubbard will be ABC’s Country Producer and Reporter based in Nashville, reporting primarily for ABC Radio but also supporting all ABC News platforms. Hubbard has contributed country content to ABC Radio since 2010, and most recently was a producer at ABC-TV affiliate WKRN.
