Big Promotion For Ivey
iHeartMedia has promoted John Ivey to the newly created position of President of CHR Programming Strategy. Ivey will oversee iHeartMedia’s CHR and RCHR formats and work to improve the company’s Top 40 brands in its over 150 markets. Ivey will retain his role as PD of KIIS FM in LA.
Barry Promoted At RCS
Software company RCS has announced that Barry Hill has been promoted to VP Customer Experience, reporting to President and CEO Philippe Generali. Before joining RCS 20 years ago, Hill was a PD, morning host, and selector user for many years.
Big City Promotion For Cara Hahn
iHeartMedia New York announced on Wednesday that Cara Hahn has been promoted to APD and Music Director for Z100 and Lite FM. Hahn joined iHeartMedia New York in 2014 where she most recently served as Programming Coordinator for the market. She will report to both Chris Conley, Program Director for 106.7 Lite FM, and Mark Medina, Program Director for Z100.
Kempton To Program WASH-FM
iHeartMedia Washington, DC, has named Jill Kempton PD for 97.1 WASH-FM (an 80s, 90s, and Today format). Kempton moves to DC, from WTLW in New York, where she was APD, Music Director, and Imaging Director. She spent her first eight years in radio at WBEB in Philadelphia.
McCann Creative Officer Named Mercury Chief Judge
The Radio Mercury Awards announced on Wednesday that Sean Bryan, Co-Chief Creative Officer at McCann NY, will be the 2018 Chief Judge for the 27th Annual Radio Mercury Awards Competition. Award categories will be announced in December, along with Call for Entry guidelines and deadlines.
Duran’s Carney Awards To Be Televised
The Elvis Duran Group’s 2017 Carney Awards, which honor Hollywood’s leading character actors for their outstanding achievements, will air on NBC Universal’s COZI TV Saturday at 9:00 p.m. It's the first time the Carney Awards will be broadcast on television. Rob Kruz-ing Back Into DC
Rob Kruz returns to the nation’s capital from WFLZ in Tampa, to take up the PD role at HOT 99.5, “DC’s No. 1 Hit Music Station,” effective December 18. He replaces Tommy Chuck who was promoted to SVP Programming for Tampa/Sarasota.
DeDe Extends Morning Show Run In Dallas
DeDe McGuire will continue doing wakeup duties on Dallas-Ft. Worth’s K104 under a new four-year contract extension that includes national syndication in 2018. McGuire’s career has included stops in Chicago and Philadelphia, and she served as co-host with the late, great Doug Banks on the syndicated Doug Banks Show.
