Long-time radio broadcaster Roger D. LeBrecht, known as “Don” to his friends, has passed away at age 80. He spent more than four decades in broadcasting and retired 14 years ago to his home with his wife, Thelma, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

It appears KMOX has a new General Manager, although nobody at Entercom is saying anything about it. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that John Sheehan is out as GM and former Emmis St. Louis Sales Manager Becky Domyan has taken over.

Cox Media Group Miami has named Jill Strada Director of Operations and Crystal Gans Integrated Sales Manager in Miami. Strada (left) will oversee WEDR, WFLC, WFEZ, and WHQT as well as marketing, promotions, and digital content. Gans will lead all sales strategies across multiple platforms. She was Digital Sales Manager.

Another big career move for iHeart's syndicated Country host. Bones says he's joining American Idol, working with contestants to share advice on being an artist, dealing with media, posting on social media, remaining focused and being authentic. Bones said, "It's very exciting for me. I'm nervous that I'm not going to give good advice."

Len Weiner is the new Program Director for Sports Radio WQAM-AM in Miami. Weiner will continue to program Entercom's Sports Talk 790 AM The Ticket, which is also in Miami.

WMEN-AM 640 “The Hurricane” sports radio in West Palm Beach is bringing in top-rated morning radio personality Kevin Rolston of WRMF’s The KVJ Show starting February 26 for a daily sports show.

Louisville Public Media has hired Ryan Van Velzer as 89.3 WFPL’s Energy and Environment Reporter. In this role, Van Velzer will continue WFPL’s coverage of topics ranging from sustainability and climate change to energy economics and environmental regulations.

Jim McCloud joins Entercom from Major League Baseball, where he was Group Director & VP of Sponsorship Sales & Client Services. Entercom creates a new position for McLoud, Executive VP of National Business Development. McCloud will focus on bringing Entercom more national revenue.

Joining Westwood are Stephen Gary as Director of National Sports Partnerships in L.A., Gina LaBanco as Director, National Partnerships (Chicago), Wesley O’Dell as Director, National Partnerships, and Craig Rossi as VP of Spoken Word, also in L.A. Rossi replaces Adam Gilbert, who left the company. Gary, LaBanco, and O'Dell are all new additions to the Westwood team.

Eric Jewell is new GSM for Cumulus' Kansas City cluster. Jewell was Senior VP of Sales for iHeart in Memphis. He's also been D.O.S. for Entercom in Gainesville and General Manager of Rocket City Broadcasting in Huntsville.
