Salem Media Group’s afternoon host on Upstate South Carolina's 94.5 WGTK The Answer, Joey Hudson, received the Media Person of the Year award from the Southeastern Crime Stoppers Association at their annual conference held in Atlanta.

Cumulus Media-Charleston confirms that legendary Charleston radio personality, Frankie Green, known on-air as "Frankie the Big Bopper," passed away Wednesday morning. A native Charlestonian, he was a much-loved fixture on the Low-country entertainment scene for more than 40 years.

Carl Kasell, who was heard on National Public Radio programs for more than thirty years, died Tuesday from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 84. Kasell joined NPR in 1975 as a part-time newscaster for “Weekend All Things Considered.” He was promoted to full-time newscaster on “Morning Edition” in 1979 where he worked until 2009.

The TJ Show, hosted by TJ Taormina, Loren Raye, and producer Matt Shearer, will remain on Boston’s 103.3 AMP Radio (WODS-FM) after both sides signed a multi-year contract extension. The show airs weekday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET.

YEA Networks has named on-air personality J-Si Chavez as host of its nationally syndicated celebrity news show The Hollywood 5. The two-hour weekend show airs on over 60 stations across the U.S.

The Breakfast Club's Charlamagne Tha God returned to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Monday night, April 16, to promote the paperback release of his New York Times Best-Selling book Black Privilege. 

Allen joins current AD host Greg Bowman on-air weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. She returns to WWJ Newsradio 950 from WKAR/East Lansing, MI, where she served as the producer and host of the Morning Edition show.
