The morning team, syndicated by Compass Media Networks, continued its summer tour with this sold-out event from "The Razor" in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Free Beer and Hot Wings “Morning Show at Night” tour started in Nashville at the world-famous Wildhorse Saloon, traveled to Grand Rapids, Albany, Portland, ME, and Green Bay. Next up is the Jersey Shore with 105.7 The Hawk on July 13. The show is heard on 45 stations.

Benztown is bringing the voice of sportscaster Vic “The Brick” Jacobs (pictured left) to radio stations across the U.S. in a 30-second daily feature This Day in Sports History. The segment will be available to stations through Benztown’s Adrenaline Sports Imaging Library.

910AM Superstation (WFDF/Detroit) starts with Jack Lessenberry on Monday, July 9, 2018.  Lessenberry can be heard Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Duluth News Tribune is reporting that longtime talker Ed Schultz has died of natural causes at the age of 64. After getting his start in Television, Schultz moved over to talk radio at WDAY in Fargo. In 2004, Schultz took his radio show nationwide.

The Country Radio Broadcasters have completed their elections for Board of Directors. The Board is made up of volunteers from all areas of the Country radio and the record industry. Returning as CRB Board President is Townsquare's Kurt Johnson, along with R.J. Curtis as VP and Scripps' Beverlee Brannigan as Secretary.

On-air personality Mike Valenti has signed a new long-term contract extension with 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM) in Detroit. Valenti will stay on as afternoon drive host doing The Valenti Show, weekdays 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. ET.

Dave Congalton has worked at KVEC for 26 years. He hosts afternoon drive on the station. According to KSBY.com, Congalton was walking to the immigration march downtown Saturday morning when he was hit by a car. He suffered head and leg injuries. Congalton said he'll be in the hospital for a few more days and in a full leg cast for six weeks.

Larry Cotlar was the host of “Cotlar and Company” on 1350 ESPN in Des Moines. He died when he stepped out of his stalled vehicle and was swept away by a flashflood. The torrential rainstorm Saturday night dumped more than 7 inches of rain in just a few hours on Des Moines. Cotlar's body was recovered several blocks from where the van stalled. Cotlar was 66.

Country Radio Seminar has hired music industry veteran Jean Williams to fill the position of Director of Brand Marketing and Strategic Partnerships. She starts July 2. Previously, Williams served as the Regional Promotions and Marketing Director for Show Dog Records.

The Covino & Rich show, which first premiered on SiriusXM in 2005, made its debut on ESPN Radio, Saturday, at Noon. The program is co-hosted by Steve Covino and Rich Davis, and will now air Saturdays and Sundays, Noon-4 p.m. this summer, covering the hottest stories in sports.
