Apple Music Now Available on Sonos

Sonos announced on Wednesday that Apple Music is now available on Sonos systems worldwide. Users now have access to Apple Music features like For You, New, Radio, and My Music, and will also be able to stream the entire Apple Music catalog through Sonos smart speakers.

Wallace New GSM For Raleigh NC Stations

Robert Wallace has been named the new GSM for Curtis Media Group's WKIX 102.9 FM, KIX 1029, and WPTK 850 AM/104.7 FM in Raleigh. Wallace brings more than 20 years of Raleigh radio experience to the post, most recently serving as GSM for WRAL-FM in Raleigh. He starts in his new roles on February 15.

WLGC’s Justice Dies of Heart Attack

Mark Justice (pictured left) was in radio since high school. He joined WLGC in Ashland Kentucky in 1984 and started The Breakfast Club on September 5, 1985. On Wednesday, Justice suffered a massive heart attack while in the hospital being treated for a heart attack he suffered a few weeks ago. Justice had recently complained of heartburn and burning in his throat.

Those are the words of UMG Nashville CEO Mike Dungan who was interviewed by The Tennessean at the close of CRS last night. Dungan has been a part of the CRS board now for 15 years. He told the paper people have been predicting the decline of regular broadcast radio in the face of all these new technologies for several years now and it’s stronger than it’s ever been.
