Report: CBS Radio Generates $1.2 Billion in Revenue
When CBS corporate reports its quarterly earnings, radio is but a blip on the company TV screen. That will obviously change if the radio division is spun off, which some are predicting will happen early next year. Because CEO Les Moonves hardly pays attention to radio in his quarterly report, it's impossible to ever know what the CBS Radio revenue is. It's reported as part of "local broadcast," which includes TV. Variety columnist Jan Dawson thinks he figured out the radio numbers.

CBS Manager: Expect Radio Spinoff In Early 2017
The Chicago Business Journal published a profile piece on CBS Chicago Market Manager Tim Pohlman, who replaced Rod Zimmerman in January. The reason CBS Radio moved Pohlman from Phoenix to Chicago was because the revenue wasn't where the company wanted it to be, according to the Journal. Pohlman had good news for reporter Lewis Lazare, "I made my first-quarter numbers." He also said the most probable timeframe for a spinoff of CBS's radio division is early in 2017.
