Talk about breaking new ground! 99.9 The Fan (WCMC-FM) will host its first-ever “Beer Academy” on Saturday, July 16, with proceeds going to the Me Fine Foundation. The event will be held at Bull Durham Beer Company inside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in two sessions: 1-2:30 p.m. and 3:30-5 p.m.

Alpha Media’s Country station Y93.7 FM (Salina, Kansas) would seem to be the king of blood drives. For the seventh year in a row, the station has won the “Pump Up the Volume” Blood Drive by encouraging it’s listeners to donate over 300 units of blood.

Scott Brocato is now part of the Adams Radio Las Cruces team. Brocato's duties will include shifts on both KGRT and KSNM. Adams owns and operates KGRT FM (Country), KSNM FM (Classic Hits), KHQT FM (Hot 103), and KWML AM (Fox Sports) in Las Cruces. Brocato is celebrating his 30th year in radio, most recently with CBS Radio on KEZK and KYKY St. Louis.

Cox Media Group's Long Island morning team Dayna and Jayson were let go from the station after a two-and-a-half year run. Forbes has the details about how Subaru has installed censors to control certain programming on Sirius Satellite Radio. Subaru spokesperson Michael McHale confirmed to Forbes that if the owner of a 2015 Legacy or Outback is listening to “mature” content, such as Howard Stern, that car will automatically switch to channel 001 when the car is turned off. This is to guard the next person who gets in the car from hearing anything offensive. The company also confirms that this feature is not customizable by the user.

That's because as of tomorrow all the content heard on the ESPN Radio app will be transferred over to the ESPN app. The company is condensing all its content onto one app.
