Two first-place awards and two third-place awards at the Florida Festival and Events Association 2016 Sunsational Awards for their Our Kids World Family Funfest, to be precise. The Funfest is a two-day event with a wide array of games and activities, including bounce houses, rock-climbing walls, a mini racetrack, a petting zoo, and pony rides.

CBS RADIO St. Louis stations KMOX–AM and KYKY-HD3 are the latest affiliates to carry Kansas City Chiefs games for the 2016 season. The Chiefs Radio Network now has a total of 75 affiliates, one of the largest networks in the NFL, and providing Chiefs coverage across 12 Midwest states.

As previously reported by Radio Ink, NPR affiliate was recently saved by Friends of 88.5 FM. Now, to mark its “new life,” the station has assumed new call letters: KNKX. The four letters represents “Connects” and comes after listeners were called on to submit their call-letter ideas.

Jack Hammer and Andre Kane love creating great content on the radio. They love entertaining, and they love putting in the hard work, day after day, doing whatever it takes to make it in this business. Hammer and Kane host a syndicated morning show called The Electric Radio Show.

His new gig is on The Afternoon Rush, which airs 3-7 p.m. ET. The show is anchored by the Ebony Steele and sidekick Loni Swain, and is syndicated by American Urban Radio Networks.

Hubbard Radio in Seattle has named Kim Monroe APD and host of the 2-6 p.m. shift at Rock 98.9 KVRQ. Monroe has worked at Rock stations WEND in Charlotte and KNDD in Seattle. She was PD at Alternative WXTM in Cleveland which later became WXRK.

Veteran sports broadcaster Mickey Ryan will join the Titans Radio broadcast team beginning Saturday, August 19, at 5 p.m. CST. Ryan will co-host pre- and post-game coverage for Tennessee’s NFL club on 104.5 The Zone and Titans Radio. He will join fellow broadcaster Mark Howard and former Titans players Blaine Bishop and Kevin Dyson on the show.

Longtime KKUS personality and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Tom Perryman is to be honored with a new exhibit at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in Carthage, Texas, opening August 12. It will feature memorabilia from Perryman’s almost seven decades in radio.

Bill Cate of Media Services Group fills us in on Monte Spearman’s latest deal. Spearman owns High Plains Radio Network and he's adding two more Arkansas signals to his growing portfolio of small-market stations. Arkansas broadcasters Jim and Nancy Howe are selling the stations for $475,000. These are the only two stations they owned.
