As we gear up to hear the quarterly numbers from all the public companies, we checked in with Galaxy Communications CEO Ed Levine. Levine recently announced his company would be purchasing a cluster of stations from Gamma Broadcasting in Massachusetts, so we asked him about that deal, where he's getting his financing, how the economy was doing in his market, and political ad revenue. Here's what he had to say...

In our final installment of our three-part interview with the great Charles Osgood, we asked him about the evolving news business and what he thinks about how the news is being covered today, a much different world than when he first started. Although Osgood recently retired from Television he can still be heard on the radio as part of the Westwood One family. We also asked Osgood to share some advice for young broadcasters hoping to get into radio news and why he decided to stay in radio after retiring from Television.

Cumulus owned KFOG in San Francisco has announced its 2016 Concert for Kids lineup. The holiday concert is taking place Thursday, December 8, at the Masonic in San Francisco, with Band of Horses, Blind Pilot and The Revivalists, and benefits UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals and Marines Toys for Tots. This show is in its 31st year.

Chris Plante's program will originate from his flagship station, WMAL AM/FM in Washington, D.C. and air from 9 a.m.–12 noon ET. Plante began his radio career at WMAL in 2005 after 17 years at CNN. Plante's stepfather is CBS News correspondent Bill Plante.

KITS-FM San Francisco morning host Kevin Klein has signed a new multi-year deal with the station that will keep him hosting the morning show alongside Ally Johnson. Klein began co-hosting mornings back in September 2014. KITS-FM -- Live 105 -- is an Alternative Rock station.

Valentine is the new mix show coordinator on CBS RADIO’s LIVE 101.5. He can currently be heard weekdays at Noon during the Eat 2 the Beat Mix and at 10 p.m. for the Late Night Mix Fix.

St. Louis has a new Alternative Rock station (The New Alt 104.9) and it will also be the home of The Woody Show, featuring Woody, Ravey, Greg, Menace, Seabass and Tony “Whipping Boy” Mott.

The current host of hosts Apple’s Beats 1 and morning drive on New York City’s HOT 97 will be joined by fellow new addition Laura Stylez to host afternoons on WE 96.3 (KWEE). The pair will be on air 1-4 p.m., M-F, beginning October 24.

Triton Digital and AudioHQ announced an agreement on Tuesday whereby AudioHQ will be the exclusive seller of Triton’s online audio-advertising inventory in the United States. In addition, AudioHQ will support the programmatic buying and selling of audio inventory by promoting Triton’s audio-advertising exchange, a2x, to traditional and programmatic buyers.

If anyone thought Don Imus was going to retire any time soon, you can forget about that idea. The I-man just signed a multi-year renewal with Cumulus and 77 WABC in New York that will extend his radio career in New York to over 40 years.
