With the festive season fast approaching, Albany, NY, Classic Rock station PYX 106 hosted the 2016 Toys for Tots Bike Run on October 23, collecting over 500 toys and $7,600 cash in the process. The whole bounty will go to Capital Region Toys for Tots.

On October 21, myFM 90.5 Exeter/Grand Bend (Ontario, Canada) held its 3rd Annual South Huron Hospital Foundation Radiothon, raising a massive $91,000-plus. All proceeds go towards Jessica’s House, a residential hospice created to serve the South Huron area.

Beasley Q3 Revenue Jumps 5.6%

It continues to be a great week for Beasley Media. First the close of the Greater Media deal, then an earnings release with a nice bump in revenue. The $1.5 million increase in top-line revenue for the third quarter was attributed to great quarters turned in by the company’s Tampa, Charlotte, and Fayetteville markets. Both Tampa and Charlotte were markets Beasley picked up from CBS Radio back in 2014.

Being able to spin off four stations to Entercom in Charlotte for $24 million as part of the Greater Media transaction will play a big part in helping Caroline Beasley bring down the company's debt. And that's what she plans to use that money for. Keeping debt low is why Beasley says the outlook for more growth is attractive.
