And it's taking a bath on the deal. It was back in late 2015 that Pandora purchased the ticket selling business for $450 million. On Friday the company announced it was selling Ticketfly to Eventbrite for $200 million. The deal will be funded through a combination of $150 million cash and a $50 million note payable to Pandora.

(By Bob McCurdy) Last week an AE and I were involved in a conversation with an advertiser who was looking to get a better handle on the listening habits of the “digital streamer,” specifically the Pandora and Spotify listener.

The pair have been at Atlanta’s “Star 94.1” WSTR-FM for some time and are upping their duties in the station’s programming department. Afternoon host Mike Marino is now WSTR’s Assistant Program Director, and longtime midday host Heather Branch becomes WSTR’s Music Director.

K-FROG 95.1/Riverside has promoted Robin Ward to Music Director/Assistant Program Director. She will also host the midday timeslot as her on-air persona Heather Froglear, weekdays at 9 a.m. Ward joined K-FROG in 1993 and has served as Promotions Director and morning show host.

Angel Brown has been named Market President for the Virginia cluster, which includes 103 JAMZ, NOW 105, MOViN 107.7, and 92.1. Brown previously worked as the Market VP for Cumulus in Mobile, where she also served as the Market Manager and Vice President of Sales.

Mix 96-5 (KHMX-FM) has brought Cage on board to launch a new afternoon show on Monday, June 12. The show will simply be called Jason Cage and will cover all the latest pop culture and local news, interviews major music stars, and help Houston transition from work to the drive home.

With a nickname like "AntMan," you’d expect radio vet Anthony Allen to keep busy. And that’s exactly what iHeartMedia has in mind for him as he assumes multiple roles after moving in from iHeart Phoenix. Allen has been named Program Director for Country stations KASE 101 and 98.1 KVET. In addition, he’ll be the  weekday afternoon on-air personality for KASE 101.

Ten years and counting. WGN Radio has again been named Chicago Market Station of the Year at the 2017 Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Awards, which were held on June 8 in Champaign. In addition, Tribune Media President of Broadcasting Larry Wert was honored as IBA’s “Broadcaster of the Year” at the ceremony.
