Emmis New York‘s Senior Vice President/Market Manager Charlie Morgan has joined the New York Market Radio Association’s Executive Committee as Treasurer, replacing Univision’s Ramon Pineda. Morgan is a 38-year broadcast veteran.

Charles Osgood, host of Westwood One’s long-running The Osgood File, will be honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with the 2017 “News & Documentary Emmy Award for Lifetime Achievement.”

The Charlotte station will welcome the star of the VH1 series Black Ink Crew beginning August 13. She will be on-air live on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Dutchess (AKA Dutchess Lattimore) hails from Lincolnton, NC and is a cum laude graduate of North Carolina A&T State University.

“Superstation” 101.1 FM WYDE (Birmingham, AL) has announced changes to their daily weekday lineup, including a new morning show, AM with Michael & Jessica (6 to 10 a.m.), hosted by radio veteran Michael Hart and Jessica Borklund.

The station has named two new members to the Mix Morning Show team.  Brandon O’Brien, former PD/afternoon drive host at WUSH-FM/Norfolk, and Ricki Smith, recently the AM drive co-host on WARH-FM/St. Louis, will join current Producer/co-host Clint Redwine in morning drive beginning August 21. Following the realignment, veteran co-host Anna Marie will transition to nights.  

During its Q2 earnings call Monday night, CBS Executives confirmed its deal to merge the CBS radio stations with Entercom is on track to close in the fourth quarter. The company said the SEC has approved the deal and now both companies are only waiting on approval from the Department of Justice.

After completing a refinance that brought down the leverage of the company, Salem Media CEO Ed Atsinger says the company is on the lookout for tuck-in acquisitions that do not increase the company's leverage. He also said translators were big for the company with 12 already up and running and 15 more in the pipeline ready to be turned on. Atsinger did say there are very few translators left for purchase in the markets Salem operates.

Total revenue for the company decreased 2.5% to $66.1. Broadcast revenue decreased 1.4% to $49.3 million, digital revenue decreased 1.6% to $10.9 million and publishing revenue decreased 11.3% to $6.0 million. One of Salem's biggest drags on revenue is KLTY in Dallas, where revenue is down 20% after years of ratings declines.

The iHeartMedia Network Groups President has his contract extended where he'll continue to oversee the iHeartRadio Network, Premiere Networks, Total Traffic + Weather Network, and the NBC News Radio Network, as well as iHeartMedia’s in-house audio and visual creative agency. Davis has been on Radio Ink's 40 Most Powerful People in Radio list for the past four years, this year at #15.

Monahan had been Beasley Media Group's Chief Revenue Officer since January 2015, overseeing all sales of the company's core radio, digital, and non-traditional revenue opportunities. She joined Beasley in 2003 as DOS in Fort Meyers. In 2004, she was promoted to VP of Sales.
