It is hard to find a blog, LinkedIn post, or business article that doesn’t make some definitive and overly generalized statement that claims the rise or fall of something. But we don’t live in a one-size-fits-all world. Very few things are as rosy or as dire as they are made out to be.

It's been about a year now since long-time Emmis morning man Big Boy left Power 106 for iHeartMedia's start-up Hip Hop station Real 92.3 in Los Angeles. Emmis filed a lawsuit against Big Boy claiming they had right of first refusal to match the offer given to him by iHeart. Emmis claimed it did match iHeart's $3.5 million salary and other perks, however Big Boy crossed the street anyway. Emmis has confirmed that a settlement between the two sides has been reached. Emmis was asking for $5 Million.

Cumulus Senior VP Gary Pizzati has been overseeing the market since Mark O'Brien left last year, and now Jake McCann gets promoted to take over the cluster.

John Mentesana is the new GSM for Mt. Wilson Broadcasting's Go Country 105, K-Mozart 1260, and KJAZZ 88.1 in Los Angeles. Mentesana joins Mt. Wilson from iHeart Media where he was a Senior AE for the past five years.
