CBS Radio Lost $552 Million in 2016
That's according to a new document filed with the SEC by Entercom, showing CBS' statement of consolidated operations, as it moves closer to merging with CBS radio and taking over its 117 stations in 26 markets.
New Jersey Broadcasters Petition Senate
New Jersey Broadcasters Association CEO Paul Rotella has written a letter to Senators Orrin Hatch and Ron Wyden of The Senate Committee on Finance urging them "to reject any measure that would alter or eliminate a business’s ability to deduct the full cost of advertising in the year it is incurred."

WPEG Helping Salvation Army To March In Charlotte
The Hip Hop/R&B station’s No Limit Larry and the Morning Maddhouse is hosting a 28-hour radiothon, beginning at 6 a.m. today to raise funds for the Salvation Army’s summer overflow shelter for women and children. The Beasley Media morning show personalities will broadcast live and sleep outside on the grounds of the Salvation Army in a bid to raise $15,000 for the shelter.

Radio Booted From BIA Kelsey’s Top 5
And the medium now taking in more ad revenue than radio is....Mobile. That's according to BIA Kelsey's midyear update to its Local Advertising Forecast. For 2017, the firm has decreased its advertising estimate to $147.9 billion, down from $148.8 billion forecast in October of 2016. The lighter revenue projection is due to an overall weaker-than-expected economy in the beginning of 2017, which has led to softness in advertising revenues. Univision announced that Primer Impacto’s Jackie Guerrido will host El Jangueo, a new afternoon drive radio show on WRTO Mix 98.3 FM, starting Monday. She'll be joined by Tony Banana and sidekick “El Primo,” every afternoon on El Jangueo.
Fred & Angi Get A New Producer
iHeartMedia Chicago has hired Kaelin Roberts as Executive Producer for the Fred+Angi Morning Show on KISS-FM in Chicago. Roberts is a Detroit native who began her career as an intern at iHeartMedia’s Channel 955 in Detroit. She spent two years as an Associate Producer for the Mojo in the Morning show.
Tony & Kris Take Mornings In Knoxville
They become only the fourth morning show in the history of Country station WIVK. Tony Randall and Kris Rochester will take over for Andy & Alison, who announced last month that they are signing off from radio.
