iHeart Host Arrested in Denver
KOA Newsradio's Steffan Tubbs was arrested for domestic violence disturbance via phone on Sunday. The police report says Tubbs is accused of repeatedly calling the victim and sending her harassing voice, video and text messages, using vulgar language with intent to annoy the victim." Tubbs has been with KOA in Denver for 12 years.

Roula Christie who hosts The Roula and Ryan Show on Cumulus’ KRBE-FM in Houston. The MIW Airblazer award is given annually to an on-air personality and stems from an alliance formed in 2015 between the MIW Radio Group and Talentmaster's Morning Show Boot Camp.
RMLC: Arbitrators Reduce SESAC Fees
The Radio Music License Committee says, following an arbitration proceeding, all RMLC-represented stations were awarded a more-than-60% discount off the SESAC radio station license rate card. The fee reduction applies for the license period January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2018. The RMLC says radio stations will receive a combined credit worth tens of millions of dollars.
Beasley Pro-Forma Revenue Drops 3.3%
Overall, Beasley reported Q2 revenue of $61 million, up from $27.8 million a year ago. However, that increase includes the addition of the Greater Media stations which Beasley did not have a year ago. On a pro-forma basis, net revenue was down 3.3%. CEO Caroline Beasley said the decline was due to less political spending, a decline in national revenue, and specific integration-related issues.

Pandora Q2 Ad Revenue Jumps 5%
For the second quarter of 2017, Pandora's advertising revenue came in at $278.2 million with total revenue coming in at $376.8 million, a 10% increase over 2016. Total paid subscribers increased from 3.93 million in Q2 2016 to 4.86 million in Q2 2017, an increase of 24%. Listener hours were down in the quarter. Here are those details...
Pandora Still Losing Millions
The company reported it lost $275.1 million compared to a net loss of $76.3 million in the same quarter last year. That number includes a goodwill impairment charge to reflect a one-time write-down related to the net assets of Ticketfly and other one-time expenses related to a financing transaction. Adjusted EBITDA was a loss of $54.3 million, compared to a loss of $25.1 million in the same quarter last year.
Guess Who’s Number One Again?
Make that 14 weeks in a row as radio's number one advertiser according to Media Monitors. The Home Depot aired just over 49,000 commercials on radio stations all over the country last week. GEICO held on to the number two spot (43,145), followed by Lowe's (32,650), Discover Card (28,126) which was up to fourth from 19th, and JC Penney (27,086).
iHeartMedia Launches Sports Format In West Palm
The new Sports Radio 1230 The Zone will include Sports Talk programming, NFL games, the Miami Marlins, Florida Gators basketball, the 2018 Winter Olympics, college sporting events including football, the NCAA Final Four, and March Madness. ABC Radio and Skyview Networks have agreed to an early extension of their content, ad sales, affiliate sales, and audio distribution agreement. This renewal runs through 2026.
