Today’s 101.1 MORE-FM/WBEB Philadelphia has filled its vacant Afternoon Drive position with market veteran, Mark Shepperd. He replaces Logan, now doing Mornings at WINK-FM in Fort Myers. Shepperd’s career has also included WYXR, WIOQ, WIP, WXTU all in Philadelphia, WKXW Trenton and WLEV Allentown.

Cox Media Group has named Mary Ellen Marcilliat-Falkner as its new Senior VP & Chief HR Officer, succeeding Karen Bennett, who was named as Cox Communications’ new Executive VP & Chief HR Officer last month.

The well known broadcaster suffered a stroke last week and died over the weekend. He had been having heart issues as well. Fennessey worked at WCAO in Baltimore, WPEN and WFIL in Philadelphia, WMCA in New York City and WHAM in Rochester, New York among other stations.

Randy Falco circulated a statement to the press on Friday expressing his concern about the events taking place around the country. Falco said there is too much hate being spread in communities all across the country. "Sadly, these events did not happen in a bubble but are endemic of a broader disease of anti-immigrant, racist, homophobic, and religious intolerance that is spreading and threatening to divide our country." Beginning tonight ESPN New York 98.7FM’s Alan Hahn will host his own show weekdays from 7- 10 p.m. ET. Hahn has hosted Hahn, Humpty & Canty (weekdays 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET) since 2014.

The FCC's mission of shutting down pirate broadcasters continues. Anslo Alezy of Irvington and Lawrence Mason of East Orange were both warned to turn off their stations by the Commission on Friday. Alezy is accused of operating an illegal station at 88.1 from his home in Irvington and Mason is accused of operating his pirate radio station at 107.9 from his building in East Orange. Both have ten days to respond to the government and shut down the stations.

iHeartMedia Houston’s Newsradio 740 KTRH announced on Friday that Jimmy Barrett will join Houston’s Morning News as the program’s new co-host. Barrett will join Shara Fryer, Houston’s Morning News anchor from 5 - 8 a.m. on weekdays.

According to USA Today, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has pulled himself out of consideration for the soon-to-be vacant afternoon shift at WFAN in New York.
