Canton Stations Raise $181,929 With Wish-A-Thon
Alpha Media’s News-Talk 1480 WHBC and Mix 94.1 raised the huge total along with AultCare for Wishes Can Happen, Inc. The Wish-A-Thon took place on August 10-11. Over the last 10 years, $1,037,862 has been raised for Wishes Can Happen.
Another Florida Pirate Put on Notice
Wilfrid Salomon of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida has ten days to shut down the illegal radio station the FCC caught him operating in July at 107.1-FM in Oakland Park. The Commission says Salomon was operating the pirate station from a commercial suite in Oakland Park.
KTRH Radio — The Hurricane Harvey Station
Radio, in general, has been doing an outstanding job all around during what is a horrible situation in Texas. Specifically, iHeartMedia's News Radio KTRH is one of those stations you simply cannot turn off if you want to know exactly what's going on in that area and how the local residents are feeling.
CBS Radio Houston Also Goes Wall-To-Wall
CBS Radio has also been working hard to keep the Houston area residents informed and safe, despite having major issues with employees affected by the storm. CBS Houston Market Manager Sarah Frazier tells Radio Ink all CBS Radio employees are safe however many have lost their homes.
Woof Boom Picks up 5 Stations in Ohio
Woof Boom Radio has added five Lima, Ohio-area stations. Woof Boom is forming a new entity that will do business in Lima as The Childers Media Group. Once the acquisition is completed later this year, Woof Boom Radio will own and operate 11 local radio stations throughout East Central Indiana and West Central Ohio.
