Cumulus Media announced that it has appointed Gary Nolan as PD and midday on-air host for KQHN-FM/Q97.3, Shreveport’s all-new Hot AC station. Nolan joins KQHN from WMAG-FM in Greensboro, NC.

Just when we thought we fully explained the details of the recent BMI consent decree ruling, along comes Georgia Congressman Doug Collins to add a new twist to the topic. Collins has introduced H.R. 4706, otherwise known as the Music Modernization Act. Collins says the goal of the Act is "to bring music licensing its first meaningful update in almost 20 years."

Late Thursday, the Seattle Seahawks announced a multi-year extension with Bonneville Seattle. 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM will continue to broadcast all Seahawks games. The partnership also includes special programming, community service projects, and exclusive Web content. The stations have been carrying the games since 1976.
