Since the dawn of the digital age, radio has been driven to find ways to develop and enhance listener and revenue prospects on today’s constantly evolving platforms and devices.

WBWN-FM, WBNQ-FM and WJBC-AM in Bloomington, IL for raising $96,347 during its 10th Annual Country Cares for St. Jude Radiothon. In those 10 years, over $761,600 has been raised for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The 17th Annual KALC-FM Alice 105.9 Cares for Kids Radiothon raised an astounding $1.3 million in 24 hours for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals benefiting Children’s Hospital Colorado. Over the years, the Denver station has helped raise more than $23.25 million for the cause.

Justin Kinner has been named full-time Program Director of WING-AM/Dayton. He was previously working as the afternoon drive host and interim PD for the station. He also has experience as an account executive in the market.

In fact Federated Media was the first company to build an Alexa skill, and put its radio stations on the platform, about a year ago. Now they are taking the building of Alexa Skills to the next level.

Salem Media Group announced on Thursday that Mike Blakemore, PD for WFSH-FM in Atlanta, has been appointed to the new position of VP Programming for all of Salem's Contemporary Christian Music stations. Blakemore has been PD at WFSH for 10 years. Prior to that he served in programming roles in Knoxville, Des Moines, and Champaign, IL.
