Iliad Media Group of Boise, ID announced today the promotion of James Garner to Regional Operations Manager. Garner has been with the company for 11 years and is the Treasure Valley location’s longest-tenured employee. He has served as Program Director for several top-rated stations in the Boise market.

Scotty B has been named the new 7 p.m.-Midnight personality on Rock station WDHA-FM/New Jersey. He began his new position on Tuesday, July 24. Scotty B most recently served as a part-time talent and worked in production at Beasley Media Group New Jersey’s 95.9 WRAT-FM for the past five years.

Tom Joyner and Allstate are celebrating the importance of family fun for every generation at the 2018 Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion. The event now in its 16th year will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL this Labor Day weekend August 30 - September 3.

Louisville Public Media has announced that its board of trustees has chosen Stephen George as the organization’s next president and general manager. George has served as interim president since January. He will assume his role as president effective immediately.

Jack Taddeo is the new Market Manager of the company’s five-station group in Des Moines. Taddeo joins Cumulus from NRG Media, where he was Market Manager of NRG Media-Cedar Falls/Cedar Rapids.

In Boston, Joel Weiss has been named Music Director at ALT 92.9/WBOS-FM. His start date is Monday, August 6. Weiss most recently spent 13 years as a Music Director and on-air personality at WSUN/97x in Tampa.

Zach Strief will be the new play-by-play announcer on WWL (WWL-AM), the flagship station of the New Orleans Saints when the new season gets underway. Strief, who played offensive tackle for the Saints from 2006-2017, will join former teammate Deuce McAllister in the booth.

More from the NPR CEO who’s advice to content creators is to find your own voice. Mohn told a story about how he grew up listening to the great Dan Ingram in New York City. He even imitated him when he had his own radio shift. Then he was hired by WABC to do afternoon drive and got crushed in the ratings, because the real Dan Ingram was already on the air.
