The Statesman is reporting that a pirate station serving as Jones’ Austin flagship has been taken off the air after the FCC hit the owners with a $15,000 fine. This week a lawsuit was filed in Austin accusing Liberty Radio of operating at 90.1 FM without a license since at least 2013. Religious programming is now airing on that frequency.

Following the ugly breakup with United States Traffic Network, Entercom continues to move forward with its own traffic plan, hiring radio veteran and former Univision Executive Lee Davis as Senior VP of Sales for its Traffic Weather and Information Network. Davis will oversee revenue for the network throughout the country.

Cadence13, in partnership with Blumhouse Television, is launching a new podcast series: The Oval Office Tapes. The scripted, 10-episode drama will be written and produced in real time, based on actual events and news of the week. 

The hosts of the popular podcast My Favorite Murder — Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark — are launching Exactly Right Media, a new podcast network in partnership with Stitcher. Kilgariff and Hardstark are curating the Exactly Right lineup and expanding it into other genres. 

Four of the five radio stations owned by Results Radio in Redding were affected by the historic Carr Fire in California, which has already consumed over 210,000 acres. Early in the fire, Results lost mountain-top transmitter sites on South Fork Mountain and Shasta Bally Mountain for four of its five stations.

Springsteen superfan, sketch/improv comic, New Jersey native and SpringsteenProv creator John Murray launched The Bosscast, Wednesday, a new podcast about Bruce Springsteen, by the fans and for the fans, on The Brain Machine Network.
