(by Bob McCurdy) A friend in Sioux Falls forwarded an article from WARC (World Advertising Research Center) last week titled, Video Impact: The Value of Mass Marketing Compared to Targeting, which detailed an in-depth study conducted by SevenOne Media, one of Europe’s leading sales organizations for audiovisual media. The goal was to determine if dollar-for-dollar, “targeting” or “broadcasting” generated more revenue.

Texans, Entercom Staying Together

Entercom and the NFL's Houston Texans have agreed to extend their current partnership which means SportsRadio 610 (KILT-AM) and 100.3 The Bull (KILT-FM) in Houston will continue to carry all Texans games. Plus, Mega 101 FM (KLOL-FM) in Houston will broadcast all games in Spanish. The new multi-year extension runs through the 2027 season.

Bigger, Louder Classic Rocker

Adams Radio Group has moved heritage Classic Rock “BIG Classic Rock” to a new frequency in Salisbury-Ocean City. The station is now simulcasting Classic Rock on 25,000 watt 107.7. The station will continue to broadcast on the original frequency, 98.5, while listeners migrate to 107.7.

Wisconsin sports talker Bill Michaels was hit by lightning last Thursday in Eau Claire while hosting his show from a golf club. Michaels told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel he was sitting at a metal-mesh table when he was hit.
