Learfield Shuts Down Two Networks

The Nebraska Radio Network and The South Carolina Network were both shut down Tuesday. A statement from Learfield spokeswoman Jennifer Duncan to several regional newspapers said the two networks underperformed for several years and showed little opportunity for growth.

Finateri Moves Up In The Motor City

Steve Finateri has been promoted to Market Manager for Cumulus Detroit and its group of four radio stations. Finateri, a Detroit radio professional for over 30 years, rises from D.O.S. at WJR, a position he has held since 2011. He replaces Tom O'Brien who retired at the end of 2018.

Pandora CEO Roger Lynch and several other top Pandora executives will be gone when the buyout by SiriusXM closes, SiriusXM CEO Jim Meyer will lead the combined company, and Pandora's general counsel, CFO and human resources officer will also exit. Tuesday Pandora shareholders approved the deal.

That's according to a 2019 report released by Deloitte Global, which also predicts radio revenue will hit $40 billion in 2019, an increase of 1% over 2018 (and more than half the global radio revenue).
