Salem Launching Wellness Radio In The Twin Cities
It's the first-of-its-kind format set to go live on Monday. Salem is launching Wellness Radio on 1570 KDIZ AM in the Twin Cities. The format will be completely dedicated to health and wellness programming. The station is currently airing a business format.
AP Offers Stations Presidential Campaign Kits
The kit gives radio members election returns and AP journalists’ digital and on-air reporting on the presidential campaign in the months leading to election day. Subscribers will receive verified vote counts in their home state and surrounding areas in primaries and the Nov. 8 general election up to 12 times an hour via online maps and other modules.
Westwood One, Benztown Strike A Deal
It's a multi-year extension between the two companies who first formed a partnership in 2011. Benztown will provide radio imaging, production, voiceover, programming, and jingles to Westwood One and to Cumulus stations. And Westwood One will continue to manage affiliation and advertising sales for Benztown.
Intercambio Media Teams With Sun
Sun Broadcast Group and Intercambio Media announced they have entered into a network partnership that will bring Intercambio’s En Al Aire prep service and Fuxion audio imaging service to Sun’s Hispanic lineup. Sun’s Hispanic division, Sun Latino, will handle ad sales and affiliate relations for both services.
Radio’s Number One Ad Category Has Record Year.
Last year the auto industry sold more vehicles than any year in the history of the industry. Automotive has consistently been one of radio's biggest and best advertiser. The final number of vehicles sold in the United States was 17.47 million, surpassing the prior record of 17.35 million from 2000.
Innovation Begins Today in Las Vegas
All tech eyes will be on Las Vegas today as the annual Consumer Electronics Show opens. The event has become known for hatching new technologies and tech products. Jim Barry is the Media Spokesman for the Consumer Technology Association, which represents more than 2000 consumer technology companies and owns and produces CES. Greater Media's Buzz Knight, who's covering CES for Radio Ink spoke with Barry about what he expects to see from the floor this year.
KFWB-AM in Los Angeles Sold
The L.A. Daily News reports all-sports KFWB-AM will end operations as an all-sports station in mid-February after the station’s asset trust sold the business to a group that runs foreign-language programming. The staff was told about the sale at a meeting Tuesday.
Who Were The Top Ten Advertisers of 2015
Media Monitors has released its 2015 list of radio's top advertisers and The Home Depot is number one for the second year in a row. The big box home improvement store aired over 2.3 million commercials on radio stations across America in 2015. The only other company to air over 2 million spots was second placed GEICO. Deon Levingston's been at WBLS since 2004 when Skip Finley and Charles Warfield convinced him to come to New York and work for Inner City. At the time, he was working for Radio One in Indianapolis at WTLC, a station Radio One purchased from Emmis.
