The press release did not give many details about how the new Shazam measurement technology would work, or how Shazam would measure a radio station signal. So we reached out to Shazam's Chief Revenue Officer Greg Glenday to try to get you more details.

Could we see Pandora and SiriusXM as a team in the future? The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Liberty CEO Greg Maffei floated an offer of $15 a share to buy Pandora. Liberty controls SiriusXM with its 64% stake.

We haven't heard that often, if at all, from Pandora executives. Pandora CEO Tim Westergren said topline revenue was slightly below expectations in Q2 due to softness in national advertising in the entertainment and telco sectors.

In Q2, Pandora lost $76 million (before adjustments), compared to a loss of $16 million (before adjustments) in Q2 of 2015. The company expects to lose up to $200 million for the year according to Fortune.

The largest radio contingent ever converged on Cleveland this year to cover the Republican National Convention, over 160 radio shows in all. With 33 live shows, ABC was by far the biggest group. All the big-name ABC Radio news correspondents were there including Ann Compton who came out of retirement to cover the event.

iHeartMedia, Cumulus, Entercom, Cox and Sun Broadcast Group are collaborating with Shazam for a new audio audience measurement solution in the U.S. that will deliver market- and station-level audience metrics across all radio formats.

The markets were a fit, the Beasley balance sheet was in good shape, and they found a willing seller. Those are the reasons Beasley was able to purchase Greater Media's 21 stations for $240 million.
