Galaxy Buys Long Island Event Company

Taking a page from the Townsquare playbook, Ed Levine's Galaxy Communications in Syracuse is buying Hops & Props Craft Beer Fest and Taste of Flight Wine Expo. Eric Bell, who owns the events will be staying on with the new Galaxy Events division and the company will be opening a Long Island office. This was a private deal; the price of the purchase was not announced.

Among the finalists are Lon Helton, Crook and Chase, and Blair Garner, who will battle it out for National Personality of the Year. It could be curiosity because the format is new, it could be the market needed a Throwback Hip Hop station and Greater Media nailed it. Time will tell. For now, "105.1 The Bounce" in Detroit finished first in the ratings in every important demo according to Greater Media.
