EMF Purchases Chicago FM For $150K
The station is WETN-FM in Wheaton, Illinois, which broker Greg Guy at Patrick Communications tells us is part of the Chicago market. The trustees of Wheaton College are selling the station to Educational Media Foundation for $150,000. The station will flip to EMF's Air1 format upon closing early next year.

They are: The Year in Review – The Big Stories and The Year in Review – People, Sports and Entertainment. Minnesota Stations Raise Money To End Child Abuse
The 28th Annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse, held December 1 and 2 on “Bemidji’s Big Three Music Stations” KB101, KZY 95.5, and Z99, raised $34,287. The 24-hour “Education, Action and Auction” event supports programs in the Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, and Hubbard Counties of northern Minnesota and has raised a total of $1,083,218 since its inception in 1989.
WMAL Raises $½ Million For Fisher House
It was a remarkable, record-setting effort by the Washington D.C. station. Its 13th annual Fisher House Radiothon, raised $491,064 December 3-4, broadcasting from the Fashion Center at Pentagon City. The Fisher House Foundation provides homes away from home for the families of injured servicemen and women while their partners are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.

For years advertisers have been shifting their marketing dollars to digital and there is no indication that is slowing down. On Monday three companies made ad revenue growth predictions for the year ahead at the UBS Media Conference in New York and all three stated that digital will continue its explosive growth.
Radio Doesn’t Care About Millennials
That's the conclusion of the folks at consulting firm Paragon Media, ten years after the NAB commissioned the company to study millennials. In their latest blog post, Paragon says in the ten years that have gone by, what has not changed is radio's shocking lack of response to the wants and needs of younger listeners.
