One of the biggest criticisms of the two performing rights organizations is that it's nearly impossible to know exactly who wrote, co-wrote, or has ownership of specific works. This joint announcement is another step toward more transparency, which both ASCAP and BMI have declared is one of their goals.

KSCO Santa Cruz Losing $40K Per Month

And the for-profit FM is now asking the community for donations. According to The Santa Cruz Sentinel the 70-year-old station is turning to its listeners for support. In a station promo, owner Michael Zweling says, “KSCO has been my primary philanthropic project for over two decades and I could use some help. If you like KSCO and want to help it survive and thrive, send money. Anything at all will help.”

Ryvicker Expects Entercom Revenue Decline

In her latest report to investors Wells Fargo analyst Marci Ryvicker says radio revenue "is slow but improving." Ryvicker expects Entercom's Q2 revenue to be off 2% with the Charlotte market up 1%. She's also expecting CBS Radio to be down 3.5% for the second quarter.

Curtis Sliwa Arrested. A Stunt Gone Too Far?

The WABC New York talk host was arrested Tuesday morning outside of the Mayor’s residence, Gracie Mansion. Cumulus promoted the arrest in a press release, stating, "The arrest took place just after 8 a.m. while Sliwa, who also serves as the Reform Party chairman, was attempting to serve Mayor Bill De Blasio legal documents regarding the Working Families Party ballot line.
