Edison Research is expanding. The New Jersey-based market research company is doubling in size, with the purchase of more office space at its Sommerville offices. The company also made several promotions and a new hire.

In addition to broadcasting at 1140 on the AM dial, News-Talker WRVA can now also be heard on 96.1 in Richmond. Entercom Market Manager Bennett Zier said, "News and politics are integral to the communities we serve and we're excited to better serve our audience by expanding the distribution of News Radio 1140 WRVA in Virginia's capitol city. "

Veritone will now also help Westwood monitor, verify, and measure in-content audio ads and sponsorship campaigns across Westwood’s live programming -- from Sports and News/Talk to Music and Entertainment. Westwood had already been working with Veritone to monitor all of its live play-by-play sports programming.

The NAB Crystal Radio Awards are bestowed upon stations that provide their communities with outstanding service. Over the past month, Radio Ink has highlighted many of those stations, and we encourage them all to submit a nomination for this award. Winners are announced at the We Are Broadcasters Celebration, held April 10 during the NAB Show in Vegas. Submit HERE. Finalists will be announced next month.

Houston stations The New 93Q, Country Legends 97.1, and 106.9 & 107.5 Houston’s Eagle helped Texas Children’s Hospital raise $420,375 during the 14th annual radiothon, from December 1 through 31, 2017.

And that's the third consecutive year over 17 million vehicles were sold in the U.S. Even though there was a slight dip in sales, compared to 2016, it was still a strong year for radio's number one advertising category.

Despite the fact that CBS Radio has disappeared following the merger with Entercom, the CBS News Radio brand is still going strong. CBS News Radio has signed new affiliation agreements with Entercom, Alpha, and Saga. With these new deals, CBS News Radio is now delivering content to more than 450 news, talk, and music stations.
