At least in our non-scientific poll, so far, the majority of Radio Ink readers seem to be opposed to more deregulation for the radio industry. Good News For Radio In The Jacobs Techsurvey
On Thursday, Jacobs Media released data from its 14th annual online survey of radio listeners and there was plenty of good news for radio. The survey included 567 radio stations covering 14 formats and there were 64,289 respondents. It was conducted in early 2018 between January 16 and February 26. Here are some of the highlights...

In a perfect world, every radio advertiser would be able to pop up a dashboard on their PC, tablet, or smartphone and watch, in real time, how their advertising campaign is performing. That's one of the reasons advertisers are flocking to Facebook and Google, and many have said, once we can do that it will change the way they consider radio. iHeartMedia is the one company moving the radio industry closer to that reality.
Westwood Calls For Registration Of C Band Downlinks
On April 19, 2018, the FCC issued a public notice regarding a 90-day opportunity to register existing C Band downlinks. Westwood One is encouraging stations to register within the window, which closes July 18, 2018.

Baisden, Cumulus Settle Suit
It was back in 2014 when Cumulus sued host Michael Baisden, claiming they overpaid him by $1 million. Baisden's contract called for Cumulus to pay either $7.5 million or half of net program income for January 2012 to March 2013. The company said it paid $1 million as an advance and skipped 15 monthly installments by paying another $7.25 million, mistakenly not subtracting the advance. A filing with the bankruptcy court states this dispute is now settled.
iHeart To Report $1.37 Billion In Q1 Revenue
A short 10Q filing with The SEC states that iHeartMedia expects to report consolidated revenue of approximately $1.37 billion for the first quarter of 2018. That's up from $1.329 billion in the first quarter of 2017. Here's the company explanation for the increase...
