Callie Luttman already hosts mornings, oversees programming, and leads a weekly community affairs show. This year, she adds mentee to the list, becoming the next Behind the Mic Mentorship recipient from Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio.
Luttman is heard on Saga Communications’ Mix 94.5 (WLRW) in Champaign-Urbana, IL.
Luttman took over as solo morning host on Mix after four years co-hosting The Tommy and Callie Morning Show. She also hosts afternoon drive on 97.9 The Vibe, where she leads music programming, and leads Focus, a weekly public affairs program airing across all seven Illini Media Group stations. The program covers domestic violence prevention, food and hygiene insecurity, and support for veterans and first responders.
The year-long Behind the Mic program supports the professional growth of women on-air personalities through one-on-one mentorship with senior industry leaders in programming, talent development, audience growth, and brand strategy. As the selected mentee, Luttman will also attend the 2027 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Previous recipients include Jenelle Vannoy of Cumulus Media Albuquerque, Brook Stephens of Leighton Broadcasting, and Emily Harlan of Connoisseur Media’s Bay Country 94.5 (KBAY) in San Francisco.
MIW Board Member Leslie Scott said, “Callie represents the kind of talent this mentorship was created to support. She’s already demonstrated tremendous initiative by taking on multiple on-air roles, programming responsibilities and meaningful community engagement. What stands out is her commitment to growing beyond the microphone while continuing to strengthen her connection with listeners. We’re excited to help her build on that foundation, expand her skills and take the next steps in her career.”
Luttman stated, “I am beyond grateful to have been selected for this incredible opportunity. I’m motivated and ready to explore new areas of growth while learning from some incredible women in this industry. I truly appreciate this opportunity and can’t wait to get started!”
